Bitmo Lab, a new technology brand formed by Chinese companies JSAUX and SSPAI, has shown off the GameBaby, a case for the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro Max which transforms your device into a fully-fledged portable games console.
The GameBaby is a two-part case which, when not in use, protects the sides and back of your iPhone from damage. However, you can detach the bottom section and turn it around so that its physical buttons rest on the screen.
Here's some PR:
The GameBaby is an iPhone 15 Pro Max & iPhone 16 Pro Max case with an added feature. In addition to providing protection for your phone, the lower part of the case also serves as a game controller. You can detach it from the back of your phone and place it on the front in order to play retro games with a physical interface similar to those of the controllers of 16-bit consoles from the early 90s. After finishing your game, the GameBaby returns to its original shape, protecting your iPhone and allowing you to enjoy its full screen.

The GameBaby can be pre-ordered here and is sold for $19.99 for the first 1,000 units. After that, the price rises to $24.99 for the regular pre-sale price. When it eventually launches, the GameBaby will sell for $39.99.

It's a pretty nice design
That's a pretty interesting idea there. And, since almost everyone has a case on their phone anyway, it's one of the few solutions that actually makes a lot of sense. Now it's just a matter of doing it right.
The seem to have taken this design from a guy on Instagram that's been working on it since Delta arrived on iOS. I'm still on an iPhone Xs. So no chance of this for me!
Are these actual physical buttons connecting through blue tooth, or just pass through buttons hammering on glass ?
Cause if its the latter, it aint worth even a fiver.
If those are physical d-pads and buttons, they look horrendous to use.
@KitsuneNight looking at images on their website and some of the limited details given, itβs the latter.
I think this will be huge if apple itself that making it, then most emulator on ios will support it. Can you imagine playing delta emulator using the official gameboy case, man it will be really cool π
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww iphones.
There are better-looking and more functional options if turning your phone into a handheld gaming device is your thing.
@gingerbeardman Really hard to say someone took something from someone on Instagram when these controllers that attach to the top of a touchscreen for use with emulators and games and relay presses by making contact with onscreen buttons, have been around longer than Instagram has. There was a guy that use to make these for Android phones when Android phones were a brand new thing.
The Hyperkin thing was pretty similar too though I am not sure if that made contact with the screen or just relayed inputs through it's USB C port.
Also not like it isn't some crazy genius idea that would be impossible for two people to come up with at the same time. Since Delta dropped I have been hoping someone would release something like this.. so it was at least already on my mind, without ever knowing about some dude on Instagram.
This isn't the first place I have seen a comment like this, so I am guessing some internet mob is whipped up knighting on this Instagram guy's behalf, frenzied without even stopping to think how logical it is
Not at all, I'm just going by dates and physical similarity. I'm not going to buy any of them, I'm just commenting on what I see.
